Why we ask for ID verification

At The Digital PO Box, protecting our customers and our platform from misuse is a top priority. That’s why every user completes a simple identity verification before activation. This process helps us:

  • prevent impersonation and fraud
  • ensure that every PO Box is linked to a real individual or business contact, and
  • maintain the integrity and trust of our network

To verify your identity, you’ll simply take a photo of your ID and record a short selfie video. The process is fully digital, handled securely by our trusted verification partner.

How it works

To make this process quick, secure and easy, we use Sumsub, a trusted external provider specializing in digital identity verification.

Everything is handled online through your mobile device: no forms, no uploads, no paperwork.

Step-by-step

  1. In your customer portal, you’ll see a notification that your account is pending due to missing ID verification.
    Click “Resolve” to start.
  2. You’ll be redirected to a secure Sumsub environment.
    Follow the on-screen instructions to take a photo of your ID and record a short selfie video.
  3. The process takes just a few minutes.

What happens next?

Once your ID check is successfully completed, the related standby reason will disappear from your portal.
If there are no other pending requirements, your PO Box status will change to Active and this is visible in the portal.

All your data is encrypted and processed in full compliance with GDPR and ISO 27001/27701 standards.
The Digital PO Box does not store any ID documents. All verification data is handled securely and temporarily by our trusted verification partner.
