Using your address in the UAE

Two things make the UAE different from our other locations. First, the UAE doesn't deliver mail to home addresses: residential mailboxes aren't standard, and post runs through the PO Box system. So your UAE address is a secure PO Box linked to a verified office location, rather than a street address. Second, many people come to the UAE for residency or tax reasons and assume a local address helps establish those. It doesn't. A TDPB address keeps you reachable and administratively consistent, but it isn't proof of residence, tax status or business registration. Knowing that upfront is exactly what keeps it useful.

When you receive your UAE address, use it exactly as we provide it, including your TDPB number. That number is unique to you, and it's what we use to sort your post and assign it to you. You can add it right after your name or on a separate address line. The UAE doesn't use postcodes, so there's no postal code to add.

Banks, clients and international correspondence

This is the core of what a UAE address does. Inside the UAE most official communication is digital and homes don't have mailboxes, but the rest of the world still runs on physical post. Banks, clients and institutions outside the UAE may need a stable address to reach you, and a TDPB address gives them one: a secure PO Box linked to a verified office location, that stays active even if you move apartments or leave the country. Acceptance for any specific purpose is always the receiving institution's decision.

Invoices, website and email signature

Yes, and it's one of the most popular uses in the UAE, especially for freelancers and remote professionals. A TDPB address gives you a credible UAE address for your clients, website and email signature, without renting office space. Just remember it's a correspondence address, not a business-registration or residential one.

Residency, visa and Emirates ID

Here's where expectations need to be clear. A TDPB address is a correspondence address. It is not proof that you live in the UAE, and it can't be used to apply for or support a residence visa or an Emirates ID. Those depend on your actual residency status through the proper channels. A TDPB address works alongside them, as the stable place your post is sent, not as a substitute for them.

Tax and tax residency

Many people come to the UAE with tax in mind, so this matters: a TDPB address does not make you tax resident in the UAE, and it can't be used as proof of tax residence or fiscal establishment. Tax residency follows your actual circumstances and the rules that apply to you, not a postal address. Business registration, free zones and trade licences

A TDPB address isn't a business registration address. It can't be used to register a company, obtain a trade licence, or serve as your address for a UAE free zone or mainland setup, those go through the relevant authority or free zone. But there's a practical gap it fills. Many free zones don't arrange mail handling at all, and where they do, it's often limited to official company correspondence only, nothing personal or from outside that channel. So even when your business is formally established in a free zone, a TDPB address gives you a stable, reachable address for everything else: clients, banks, invoices and international correspondence. It works alongside your setup, not instead of it.

To keep expectations clear: a TDPB address is a stable correspondence address. It is not a residential address, not a tax or fiscal address, not a registered office or legal seat, and not a walk-in business location. That narrower scope is deliberate.
