Can I use a TDPB address as my official fiscal or tax address?

No. A fiscal address (morada fiscal in Portugal, domicilio fiscal in Spain, with similar terms in many other countries) is the address tax authorities use for legally binding notifications. In many countries, especially for non-residents, registering one involves specific legal requirements, and often a regulated fiscal representative who takes on legal responsibility.

A TDPB address is a correspondence address, not a fiscal one. For your fiscal address, a local accountant or fiscal representative is the right solution. Your TDPB address then handles everything else: banks, insurers, invoices, subscriptions, and general correspondence.

A few common questions we often hear

  • Most communication has moved to email and apps. What remains in physical mail is the residue: regulatory notices, formal verifications, official documents. The volume is lower but each piece carries more weight. The address that receives this residue is therefore more consequential, not less.

  • Yes. You can cancel a location at any time. If you want to use another location you just apply for it whenever you need.

  • A mail service prices the product around mail handling, with the address treated as a feature. An address service prices the product around the address itself: a base address fee with optional mail handling on top. The conceptual difference matters when your mail volume is low; the cost difference matters when it is high.

  • Yes, you do need scan credits.
Every envelope that arrives for you will be scanned, meaning the front of the envelope. This scan will be uploaded in your inbox so you know what arrived and what will be forwarded. To be able to do this, you need to have scan credits.

  • Not yet. TDPB currently covers European countries and Dubai. If you are interested in TDPB expanding to your city, see active locations where you can register your interest and be informed when TDPB becomes available there.

  • Yes. All data and scanned documents are stored encrypted, and we don’t sell, analyze or share your information. Our systems and processes are aligned with strict international security standards (ISO 27001 / 27701).

    You can decide to:

    • Receive a scan of the envelope only, and have the items forwarded unopened

Your setting applies to all incoming post, and you can change it at any time in your portal.

  • Yes. You can manage multiple addresses (for example Dubai + Spain) under one Digital PO Box account, using the same Digital PO Box number and Inbox.

  • We automatically discard all addressed advertising materials — like flyers, magazines or brochures — as long as they’re clearly identifiable as such. These items are not scanned, so you won’t waste scan credits on unwanted post.
