What happens to my physical mail after it’s scanned?

You decide. You can have it securely stored, forwarded to any address, or destroyed, all via your online dashboard.

A few common questions we often hear

  • No. In the Netherlands a TDPB address is a personal correspondence address, used under personal names. Mail addressed to a business or trading name isn’t accepted and may be returned to sender.
A quick example: a business card that reads “Lisa Jansen” with your TDPB address works, because people write to Lisa Jansen and that mail arrives. A card that reads “Studio Blauw” with the same address doesn’t, because mail to the business name isn’t accepted.

  • Yes. TDPB provides a real address that can be used as your trader contact address. The Address Association Letter serves as documentation proving your association with the address, which is what Apple requests during verification. Apple explicitly accepts both physical addresses and PO Boxes for individual traders.

  • No.
The Digital PO Box does not provide legal company registration or “seat” addresses. Our addresses are intended for correspondence only and cannot be used as a registered office or official business domicile.

If you need a company registration address, you will need a solution that explicitly offers that service.

  • TDPB selects and manages every Partner directly rather than recruiting independent operators through a marketplace. That model trades raw scale for consistent quality and addresses that hold up with banks and government bodies. The network currently covers Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Portugal, France, the UK, Belgium, and Dubai (as of May 2026), with further expansion planned into Europe and beyond. See active locations for current coverage.

  • Not in itself. It becomes problematic when there is a mismatch between the address on file with a financial institution and your actual residence (for CRS or national tax-residency purposes), or when the address is used in ways that misrepresent your residency. The cleaner solution is a correspondence address that does not imply residence at all. Always verify the specific requirements of the institution you are dealing to be 100% sure. For a breakdown of what a TDPB correspondence address can be used for, see Using your TDPB address.

  • Yes, services like The Digital PO Box provide correspondence addresses that can be used for communication with the Agencia Tributaria and other Spanish authorities. However, a virtual mailbox is not a legal domicile or fiscal residence. For NIE applications, you may need to show a residential address during the initial process, but ongoing correspondence can be directed to your TDPB address.

  • Yes, absolutely. Many couples share a single Digital PO Box. You can simply add the second name in the portal, so we know to expect mail for both recipients. All post is delivered to one shared inbox, and both of you can access it anytime.

  • Only you. Once your post is scanned, it’s uploaded in encrypted form and only accessible via your secure customer portal.

While local partners handle the physical mail before scanning, they are contractually bound to follow strict privacy rules, including not reading or inspecting the contents.
TDPB staff and system administrators do not have access to scanned documents or account content.

  • Most banks in Germany accept real street addresses at local Partner locations as correspondence addresses. Always verify with your specific bank before switching, as policies and verification systems vary by institution. See active locations for TDPB's current German Partner locations.

  • Yes. The two services solve different problems. If you need a US-based address for parcels or US banking and a European correspondence address for banks, insurers, and government bodies, using both is a sensible setup. See active locations to explore TDPB coverage.
