What's different in Germany

Two things stand out in Germany. First, German post is strict about names: if the name on the envelope doesn't match the name on the mailbox, the mail isn't delivered, it's returned. That's why how you write your address matters more here than almost anywhere (see right).
Second, German law draws a sharp line between a correspondence address and a ladungsfähige Anschrift; an address where formal legal documents can be served in person. A TDPB address is the first, not the second, and that distinction shapes what it can and can't be used for below.

How to write your German address

When you receive your German address, use it exactly as we provide it, including the c/o line with your Partner's name. This matters more in Germany than elsewhere. German post is delivered by name-match: mail addressed to a name that doesn't appear on the mailbox is returned rather than delivered. The c/o line is what connects your name to the Partner location, so your post is recognised and delivered reliably. Always keep it in place when you give out your address.

Where you can use your address in Germany

Banks and financial institutions

Many customers use their TDPB address with German and international banks for statements, cards and account correspondence. One German-specific thing to know: when you open a new account, a bank often asks for a Meldebescheinigung as proof of your registered residence, and a correspondence address isn't proof of residence, so it may not satisfy that step. For ongoing correspondence with a bank that already has you on file, it works well. Acceptance is always the bank's own call, but our model - real Partner locations used by a limited number of people, not a mass virtual-office hub - is built to avoid the patterns banks tend to flag.

Your taxes and the Finanzamt

If you've moved abroad or split your time between countries, the Finanzamt and other bodies may still need to reach you by post; about your tax, a pension, or earlier German matters. A TDPB address gives them a stable place to send that correspondence.
What it isn't: a way to establish or change your tax residence. Where you're tax resident follows your actual circumstances, not a postal address, and a TDPB address can't be used as proof of tax residence or fiscal establishment. Residence and the Anmeldung

The Anmeldung, registering where you live at the Bürgeramt, requires a residential address, confirmed by a Wohnungsgeberbestätigung from your landlord. A TDPB address is a correspondence address, a separate category, and doesn't qualify for residential registration. Once your Anmeldung is done at a residential address, you can use your TDPB address for the ongoing correspondence that follows: banks, insurers and government bodies.

Invoices and email signature

Yes. A TDPB address gives you a professional German postal address for your invoices and email signature, without putting your home address on everything. Keep in mind it's a correspondence address, not a legal business-registration address. And one specific German requirement, the Impressum on a business website, is a separate matter, covered next.

Your Impressum and registered business address

Germany draws a firm line here, and it's worth getting right. German law (the Digitale-Dienste-Gesetz) requires a business website's Impressum to show a ladungsfähige Anschrift: an address where formal legal documents can be served in person, not merely a postal address. The same applies to a company's registered address in the Handelsregister. A TDPB address can't fill that role, by design, our Partner locations are not authorised to accept formal legal service on your behalf, because we're a correspondence service, not a registered-office or legal-representation service. So a TDPB address can't be used as your Impressum address or as a company's registered seat. For those you'll need a provider set up specifically to accept legal service, or your own address. If you're unsure, check with a German legal or tax adviser.

What a TDPB address is, and isn't

To keep expectations clear: a TDPB address is a stable correspondence address. It is not a residential address, not a tax or fiscal address, not a registered office or legal seat, and not a walk-in business location. That narrower scope is deliberate. About acceptance

Whether any specific bank, authority or institution accepts any specific address is always their decision. Rules differ by country and situation, and they can change over time. We don't promise acceptance, because we don't control it. What we do control is how the model is built: real Partner locations, used by a limited number of customers, on ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certified processes, with full transparency about what the address is and isn't.
